I heard his speech today about fighting...fight, fight fight. So high school. So typical of a "FIGHTER PILOT"...and word he's had all his life.
I really think the world is just SICK of fighting this and that, and it seems "FIGHT" is McCain's rallying word.
Certainly the Arabs, with so many DEAD fathers and sons and daughters and mothers and uncles and aunts, are sick of it and US Gold Star Mothers are tired of that word too.
And our kids who just hated the smell of rotting bodies on a battlefield, the sights of torn up bodies, the tears of it all. Our kids. Remember. Our children in uniform are not just our "soldiers".
They're also our CHILDREN. And we we hope we get them more mature than when they left, but also we hope the'll be the same boys who have the same VALUES we tried to teach them before they left. DO THEY?
It would have been good if Bush and McCain had seen the bodies of war. Then they'd GET IT before they'd try to CONTINUE it! And let our children see it too.
Maybe fighter pilots who do what they do at 30.000 feet ALTITUDE don't really understand war like ground soldiers do. Where missing arms and legs of little kids and their moms and dads, blown off don't show on a pilot's targeting radar! Maybe McCain just doesn't get it. Luckily for him, he doesnt use the internet, because it's there. Shit. Its on my website and I wasn't even there!!
Maybe we need to let the Vietnam-era guys my age RETIRE softly, and not reward them with leadership. Maybe we've had just ENOUGH of their sad flag-waving, "USA, USA, USA" already. Let no more boys, like in Iraq, die for the Vietnam war never resolved in Iraq. The people who chant "USA, USA" at McCain rallies have NO CLUE what their chant's mean. They all live in suburbia and have never seen a dead "ANYTHING". Even their own pet dog at the jaws of a neighborhood Pit Bull who got loose! They have NO CLUE at all what "USA, USA" means and what it actually COSTS!
I do respect our soldiers...but most people have no concept about the smells of death, the sights of blown up bodies, torn arms and legs, brains of the dead exposed... they have NO CONCEPT of the anxiety attacks our sons will have night after night and how completely FUQUED UP they will be when they get back! NO CONCEPT. Our kids will come back from ground action and they will NEVER BE THE SAME! We will not know them because we have no idea what they've seen!
The typical 'Republican', rah rah USA USA cheerleader has no fucking idea what they're saying! And what it has cost their kids, their neighbors. If Sarah Palin's kid sees what so many soldiers have seen, she will have no fuckquing idea how he will come back... but he will not be the kid she lovingly sent to war! She has no concept of what war actually is! But HE will if he's in the right place!
God Knows, McCain's unresolved Vietnam issues is NOT where we need to send our sons to yet another stupid war. Why don't men like him get it? Stupid third world countries are just NOT worth our beloved sons! Not even ONE!
Why are Republican supporters so stupid? They've seen this stink of rotted bodies before when they were in Vietnam or Iraq--or at least in movies like Full Metal Jacket and so many others. But still they don't get it, as disturbing as those films are!!! It's worth it?
Or are these politically-mouthy GOP people talking BRAVADO because they're only the ones who NEVER smelled the stench of a battlefield of dead men, bodies blown apart? Young boys, their guts showing in the sun?

The Iraq war, not about the USA at ALL was a complete monstrosity! And those who talk about it on cable TV have never seen a dead body in their whole lives. I am reminded of the German women who were forced by US soldiers after WWII ended to actually have to see what their husbands did to Jews... killing them, men, women and children. After the war, US soldiers forced German wives to see the dead bodies...to show them what their husbands did when they were 'at work'.
I've seen those disturbing black and white pix of German women seeing those rotting bodies--forced to look at them by US soldiers. The US went out of its way to force the Germans to see the aftermath of what they did... so they'd KNOW what they actually did.
Did you know that the Holocaust wasnt about 2 or 3 big name places. Fact is, Jews were killed in places in every German "county" and so a large number of German citizens were involved in this mass murder. Not just a few at the top. It was very widespread all over Germany. The death camps were everywhere in Germany... not just in 2 or 3 big name places. It was VERY WIDESPREAD!
A lot of shame to go around, as it turns out.
We in the US need to keep mindful that social injustice can happen very easiliy and we must, as citizens, always keep our heads about us! We do NOT want to go down the same road the Germans did. If we do...then we are no better than they were.
