kmbz is #1 12+ only because of Limbaugh. kmbz morning news & Shanin & Parks lose to kqrc & kmjk 12+ in both drive times. so praise the Dittoheads. they carry kmbz

Talk radio should all be syndicated...the local yokels do nothing but national issues. They do nothing but b###h and moan. I can't listen for more than a few minutes, if I want to hear constant griping, I'll call my mother-in-law.

Oh local radio IS so tiresome when they talk national politics... all they have are talking points from the conservatives.

And get their well trained, koolaid drinking listenrs to call in, agreeing with them... people who want to feel special by getting on the radio too.

Caught Darla for a couple minutes before I had to turn her off...some lady bittching about Obama's touchy feely demeanor. I didn't hear Darla ask her what she thought of Bush giving German Chancellor Merkel a back rub. Course that's be too objective for the likes of a radio talker!

Which is why I wouldn't cry if they got shut down for whatever reason. If they can't practice their craft with a sense of fairness and ethics, then let em go under!

I do not sympathize at all with Michael Savage who thinks we all should defend his right to rant on the radio without being questioned. Throw the bipolar bastard off the air. Like the klan and other hateful people, he offers no value added to society! Let him open a website. He doens't belong on public airwaves unchecked.

If radio were offering up debate of the issues, fine. but they dont' debate. They use their power to SHILL for one side of the issues.

Screw em! Make the republicans BUY the time. or are they, but just not telling us? What if right wing talk radio is the biggest case of unprosecuted plugola in broadcasting history?

Here Darla... remember this?

980 Live... for Friday, August 29th, 2008
Wow!!! What a historic day for America?! The election just got better. I bet Hillary is steamed. McCain went above and beyond my expectations in picking a running mate. A person who has fought government oversight, government corruption, and higher taxes. A person who is down-to-earth. A person who has charisma and charm. A person who has great moral values...
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be running for Vice-President of the United States.
Her (sic) and her husband, Todd, are life long NRA members, own a fishing company, and are very pro-life.

I just wanted to get Darla Jaye's first impressions on my own blog-- so they wouldn't disappear anytime soon. (Probably like all the wonderful things people said about Richard Nixon and GWB before they were actually elected.)

As I was catching up on emails and blogs tonight, I saw Sarah on CNN use the exact lines TODAY as she did YESTERDAY about the Hillary's glass ceiling and how it's going to be broken YET this year. Here's a candidate so unused to national press coverage that she doesn't realize she can't use that same line twice in the same week.

Imagine if Reagan repeated, "Tear down that wall", or Jay Leno used the same jokes two nights in a row.
I suppose someone from the campaign will start going over her material in advance, once they realize that, if left on her own, she's not ready for prime time.

Darla, do we really want someone "down to Earth", like GWB is down to Earth running the country (you know, like Bush giving an unwanted backrub to German Chancellor Merkle?)

Is being pro-life, or female, qualifications to be thrilled about her appointment? Are you really pro-life, Darla? Is Hillary really "steamed" or would someone as politically astute as Clinton be rolling her eyes? I'm inclined to think this was a stunt of utter desperation. Is this the most qualified pro-life female he could find in the entire party?? What an insult McCain has committed against women--as if any woman will do for the ticket!

I think everyone's mind is still blown... but it's revealing to see how willing politicians are to spin and lie for their party! And we should learn a lot from them. If I was a Republican politician and wanted to keep my own credibility with my constituents, I wouldn't stick my neck out with a lie; I'd say something like, "well it's going to be an interesting two months." And say no more.

Todd Palin's half-sister arrested for burglary

From Zaz Hollander in Wasilla:

Todd Palin’s half-sister was arrested Thursday after police say she broke into a Wasilla home for the second time this week to steal money.

Palin is the husband of Gov. Sarah Palin. He declined comment.

Diana Palin, 35, entered a home near Wasilla’s Multi-Use Sports Complex and attempted to steal cash from the owner’s bedroom, police said.

She also broke into the same house on Tuesday and stole $400, they said.

She was arrested Thursday morning on felony charges of first-degree burglary and misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass and theft, police said. Friday morning, she remained jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer in lieu of $10,000 bail and court-approved third party custodian.
