Recession for FIFTY YEARS. Get used to...

...your Incredible Shrinking PAYCHECK!

AMERICA's going on a DIET caused by systemic recession. It's not going to get better for fifty years... 'til the Chinese and the Malaysians and the Mexicans will make the same wages we do!

Has nothing to do with Bush or Obama. Or loudmouth Democrats or Republicans. This has been coming for a long time! Our kids simply are NOT going to live as well as we did, and that's the truth of it, unless they go to school and get vastly better skills than their parents. Even then, they'll be lucky to pay off their student loans in a decade!

Every industry in AMERICA is undergoing reductions. Housing prices have fallen as they should have. They were way too high. Salaries are falling. Taxes being cut. People work less, make less. Skilled senior workers are getting laid off and if they find work at ALL, it will be for a pay cut! GET USED TO IT!

The factories are long gone to Asia. Greeting cards aren't made in KC anymore. Hallmark's employee lot is pretty empty. They're made overseas by people working for a fraction of what Americans made them for. It's what's held prices down. How Walmart can import goods from China and you love their prices! It's because everything is now made overseas...and your neighbor's out of work. Whole CITIES that used to thrive on factories making clothes, shoes, plastics, machine parts and cars now struggle. Their factories closed and never will reopen unless we're willing to make goods for a WHOLE lot less wages.

Cities stuck with fat union contracts have to cut the budget by laying off people. Why? Because we don't make enough to taxpay the government what we used to! UNION SALARIES need to fall. "Strike" is a word that we'll not hear much for a very long time. Workers are suffering give backs simply because our overinflated wages in America all these years have priced us out of the world markets. If they don't take a pay cut, they'll get laid off and replaced in six months by younger workers willing to work HALF as much! If the company even stays in business.

Just as you can get a house for LESS now than a couple years ago, government workers need to be willing to work for less, or not work at all! Gravy train has run off the road.

Everybody ELSE is taking cuts. Even the feds, cutting taxes. Living on LESS. Why not city workers? We're having a deflation caused simply because the US can't continue competing in the world marketplace for what we think we need to make for two cars, cable TV and designer jeans for the kids.

Yup, we're going to have to settle for cheaper cars, fewer vacations, fewer TV sets, and and end to blank check hospitalizations!

You're in denial if you think your government/union wages will continue to go up while prices go down. Airline workers have already taken the cuts. If the UAW doesn't, Michigan will be a ghost state and we'll buy ALL of our cars from Japan. It's the UAW's choice. Either work for what foreign carmaker workers work for, or get out of the carbuilding business. Get it?

Either take a pay cut in your profession, or go to work at Walmart! THAT is the elephant in the room as people whine about city budget cuts and layoffs. Time for the cops to take a pay cut like the rest of us are! We've already cut the fat. Nothing left but lean muscle.

The city budget choices are the same HERE as for NYC's rich Mayor Bloomberg. Either cheaper cops or FEWER cops.

We just can't borrow our way out of it anymore!
