From the radio discussion board... a place where there's so much panic, most people aren't even doing cheap shots at each other this week.

sorry...if you read the non abusive posts here
you can find out that there is a mass
exodus from cumulus. When the dust settles,
the only ones left selling there will bethe
ones who should have been fired long ago.
The ones left will be the ones no other
station would hire.
No personal insults..just wait to see the
roster of sales people left. And with that
staff sales will go down even further.
Advertisers are not paying attention to the
cumulus reps. The reps are not working.
Just go to the local restaurants and see
who's there and who's in the office working.
Heres the roundup..
Magic: cut everyone on air except 1 dj.
How can that last. Their numbers are
dropping. The staff is trying to piece together
a good month but there'sreally nothing to
sell and the afternoon guy in florida is
horrendous.
Fox: Trying to hang in there. One goood jock
left. But who's making calls. The reps are
cherry picking the accounts and sales should
sink heavily. Maybe the chiefs will bring in
cash but thats doubtful.
Jack: 2 reps left. Wow...how much can they
pullin.
KCMO AM: News talk is hot so this station
should do okay. But the current reps?
Wow. The worst in the city.
KCMO FM: Good reps but the station is old...
its worn out and it can't compete with star
or kudl for that audience.
Cumulus is lost. They have too much debt and
the ones to suffer are here in kc. Otherwise,
the good talent would still be around to
keep that group going.
And the future doesn't look good. Look for
6-8 reps leaving that building soon.
Or just goto the closest fed ex kinkos and
see all the resumes being printed
I guess this means my Radioman's station webpage is probably not accurate already? Will someone please send me a list of who's left... I just can't endure listening to the local stations to see what's automated Memorex -- and who hasn't left yet to sell boxy Japanese and Korean cars, or gone back to work at Price Chopper.
