So I make take a few days or more off and not look for filler material. Tony's got the crime beat covered so I don't have to watch local news. Nuthing's happening in local government. And now that the Star's cut back its reporting staff, well guess cop news is all we'll get. Wonder if we can just get the KCPD to put their media wire on a blog and then KMBZ, the 4 siren chasing station and the 2 siren chasing blogs wont have to re-key all that stuff?
Republicans are still whining because they lost the election and still telling half truths. And Bill Maher's back on HBO, funny as hell, and MSNBC's doing for the new establishment what Fox is for the old one.
I will say I watched "Taking Chance" on HBO last night and cried for 100 minutes. There's nothing like a slow Marine salute as he faces a flagged draped box. I don't remember being so emotionally affected through the entire length of a movie!Harder yet that it's a true story of how Dover AFB lovingly takes care of our fallen soldiers as they ship them home, and how the airlines go out of their way to show respect for their heroic cargo. Freaked me. Families of the fallen should probably avoid this movie just as so many of my parents' generation had to forego Saving Private Ryan which was just too realistic.
Oh well. With a person on every block in Kansas City posting a blog... I may listen for a while. If I get good emails, I'll post em. I'll still have a surprise news story for you in a few weeks once it winds its way through the Circuit Court. Especially if the guy has to go to charm school!
