Chris.
I heard a piece of your act substituting from KC on Michael Savage's SF based national talk show last night. That's GOOD. This former NY Jew/Zionist needs to get his drugs right before doing anymore bi-polar ranting. It's so bad, he fogs up my windshield!
So there you were Chris, our own Oak Park grad stuck doing mornings on our basement-rated KCMO AM710. Now, doing some vacation substituting and occasional CNN token right guest-- you're auditioning for the big time, rehashing the "we don't know Obama" mantra from last summer. That worn out assertion didn't get traction THEN and won't get traction NOW.
I'm hoping what happened to Jerry Agar will happen to you, Chris. Remember THAT Canadian self righteous Libertarian know-it-all? Formerly 980 KM-alBZera lecturer. Some larger market guy will hear you subbing for Savage, 'discover you' and pull you out of our market, and that toilet bowl Cumulus station where you're working.
Then after three months, just like WLS did with Agar, they'll discover you've got about a month or two worth of material, and then you just start repeating it.
It's THEN they realize you aren't their ratings savior, and so they'll move you to weekends. Is Agar better doing weekends at WLS Chicago or afternoons at KMBZ Kansas City?

I dunno but WE are definately better! Like that former KMBZ studdering midday guy, Tom B-b-b-b-Becka-- now relegated to KFAB Omaha, Stigall just rants his same memorized GOP pre-election talking points. Stigall rants them WELL, admittedly.
But it's just SOS, DD (same old shit, different day). And that just gets old after awhile to regular listeners, especially those who are more well informed than just listening to Fox. Repetition's the trademark of a mediocre talk show guy. Like Darla. She got bounced out of KMBZ middays too, because she also didn't grow. Maybe it's just hard to stay leading edge when you live way west of the Beltway and don't get to hobnob with the big boys at cocktail parties.
Thank God for the Internet, without which, political local talkers couldn't survive.
Maybe what most stations do is just bring in a new medium or large market guy every year or so, he/she does his/her brand of schtick and when the market's regular listeners have heard it all, then move to yet another market to do it THERE.
We've already heard everything Stigall and Agar had to say. Time for them to move on and do their traveling salvation show someplace else. I've listened to Agar in Chicago since he left KC, and he said the same thing about Chicago schools that he did about KCSD. Same words even. He probably never set foot in either one!
Someone should tell these people the election's over, and what they're selling, America didn't buy.
As a GM said to staff once when he brought changes to the TV station I was working at, "get ON the train, get OFF the train, or get RUN OVER by the train."
