McCain changes strategy again

A talking point change has occurred in McCain's stump speech. Still keeping Joe the Plumber as his posterboy for mister small business, McCain has jumped on an Obama mistake.

When talking to this "Joe the Plumber", Obama unwisely said he plans to 'redistribute wealth'. That phrase is honest, because that is what government does. Government of both parties.

It's a fair statement that Democrats tend, through taxes, to move some money downward to the citizenry. Republicans call it a 'handout program' and that's reminescent of Roosevelt and LBJ days when there was plenty of welfare for the poor.

But it's ALSO a fair statement that Republicans too, redistribute wealth. By increasing taxes on workers and giving tax cuts or tax breaks to businessmen and the wealthy or those who earn money in investments. And the biggest one of all, by passing government paid projects--like bridges to somewhere, aircraft carriers and legal bribes to foreign countries called 'foreign aid.'

That was the truth.

Now what McCain is doing is seizing on Obama's honesty by suggesting only DEMOCRATS redistribute wealth. To loud boos of the crowd. What we have here is simply a case of HALF TRUTH.
